Our Church

I have loved every single church that Jay and I have been a part of.  I have so many sweet friends from each church and I'm thankful for all of the ways I've grown because of those experiences.

The church we are a part of now is beyond special.  I don't know why God has allowed us to take part in it -- there are so many other people who would do well here and would love to be serving here.  But for some reason God chose us.

One thing that I've discovered, especially since coming into the Anglican tradition, is grace.  Not in a way that makes me want to go out and take bad risks in life, but the kind of grace that allows me to accept myself for who I am, and desire to change, grow, and accept people in the same way.  I've also so loved the simplicity of worship together.  No one performs, no one sits back and expects entertainment.  We are all together worshiping the God who loves us.  What a gift.

So, I wanted to share a few photos of our little family (who is growing and busting at the seams).  And I'll explain the photos since most of you who read my blogs are Baptist or non-denoms. :)

This is a Sunday that Jay preached.  (I had been asked to snap a few pictures and it happened to be on this day.)  We open with singing, prayer, and confessing.
People laughing at something Jay said.
(We wouldn't expect any different, would we?)

After the sermon, we pray together for the world, loved ones, and ourselves.  We prepare our hearts for communion.
Communion is very sweet to watch.  I get teary-eyed quite often, knowing that we ALL can come before the throne of grace.

Someone is always being prayed for.  What a loving community.
Our pastor is great about involving kids in worship.

I know that pictures can't capture the experience exactly, but I hope you will all enjoy a little glimpse into our favorite part of Dallas.

  1. I love your church and the Anglican experience. I'm always confronted with the kingship of God.

  2. I agree with Becky. Never have I seen Christ worshiped as LORD and KING so much as when I'm in your church. It's so sweet, yet so powerful. Maybe one day God will let us be Anglican too. ;)
