Goodbye Baby #3, Hello Baby #4

It just hit me tonight at the dinner table that we only have a few more days with Olivia as our baby. I always get so sentimental when my baby has to grow up and make room for the next one. Olivia has been such a sweet baby and is now a very precious big girl.

Olivia has been easy from day 1. I don't remember ever having a rough moment with her. She's always gone with the flow and is just so content. She plays by herself very well, is great with younger children, and absolutely loves it when one of her brothers singles her out as his play mate. She has both of her parents wrapped around her little finger. She may even have two brothers there as well.

As we were having dinner together, I held Olivia and told her that she had 4 more days to be the baby of the family. She pulled out my thumb as I held up four fingers and said, "No! 5." Then we laughed a little bit when I told her how each of the boys had to make room for a new baby. Her tune changed quickly and she got big tears in her eyes and tried to look so brave. I asked her if she was okay and she kept trying to suck in the tears. But she had to let them out and just wept.

It's been a good 4 1/2 years for our little Liv. But what she doesn't know is that the best is yet to come. She's about to meet her best friend. I'm so excited to introduce them and help develop their friendship. And what a pair they will be!

Our family is changing. Hadassah will be home with us in less than two weeks. We'll all be together at last! The day we have waited for is coming faster than we could have ever expected. God is so good and he has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams.

  1. Oh so sweet! I am weeping to Liv. You girls have grown up so fast. I have a feeling you and Hadassah will be sisters by heart and best friends in no time.
