The Day Has Finally Come

I'm so happy to finally be able to share our good news with you. After much waiting, wondering, hoping, crying, and praying, we finally get to somewhat share pictures of our sweet Hadassah.
I wish that we could take the heart off of her face so that you could see her long eyelashes, perfect lips, and the spunk in her eyes. But we want to protect her and make sure that we respect the system.
But believe me when I tell you, she is beautiful and looks like she will fit right in with her brothers and sister who are eagerly waiting to meet her.
She came to the orphanage malnourished, but she is being taken care of and looks like a happy little girl.
So, thanks to all of you who have been praying and checking in on her. Before we know it, we will be flying to meet her and then flying again to bring her home.

You can see that her tummy was distended.

This is a more recent photo and she's smiling a toothless smile with some rolls on her legs. :)

This picture makes me grin from ear to ear.
Hadassah is Queen Esther's Hebrew name. Esther means "star". Take a closer look at her little sleeper. It says, "Little Star".
Who would have thought that a little boy's pajamas would make our little girl look so precious.

We are anxious to meet her. Here is what comes next:

1. We moved from Florida to Texas, so we had to get an addendum to our home study. (In other words, we had to re-do some paperwork.) We are still waiting on all of that to process. As soon as it does, we should be submitted to court.

2. Submitted to court just means that our paperwork goes to the court and we wait for a date to appear at the court in Addis Ababa.

3. During that court date we will meet Hadassah and spend some sweet time with her before we have to leave her again.

4. We hope to pass court the first time, but sometimes certain items in the paperwork are missing and we might have to wait until we officially pass...which could take who knows how long.

5. After we pass court, we will have an embassy appointment. The embassy appointments are taking quite a while now. But hopefully we'll pass right on through and we can go back and pick up our sweet girl and bring her home!

  9. Call me crazy, but to me her chin and what I can tell of her lips look a lot like Josiah's. Which now that I think about it is the same as Olivia's lips and chin. And if I remember correctly all your kids have pretty long eyelashes. I love that she fits right in. I can't wait to meet her. We are so excited for you and know she will be home soon. Very soon. Oh Lord Jesus expedite the process and bring Hadassah home quickly!
